About I will be traveling to Albuquerque in April. Is there any areas I should stay away from

I will be traveling to Albuquerque in April. Is there any areas I should stay away from?
I will be spending most of my time downtown for the USBC Open, but I like to sight see and will probably do some driving in my off time. Any recommendations? Restraunts, night clubs(any kind!) I will be there April 8th through the 11th.

Answer 1 :
Stay north of downtown, the SE side of ABQ is the most dangerous.
Answer 2 :
I don't live there, but do have family. Make sure you take the Sandia Peak Tram ride. Great sights at the top and a nice place to grab a drink or some food at the top as well. A good place to eat is The Range...good food, good menu and they have drinks.

About best way to travel from Washington, DC to Albuquerque NM

Best way to travel from Washington, DC to Albuquerque NM?
Either by train or by bus, any tips thank you..which way is cheaper?...(no plane though because of extreme fear of flying)
Other - United States - 2 Answers

Answer 1 :
Bus is much less expensive but is also much less comfortable. Both would take about the same amount of time 3 days by train and 4 by bus. A rental car would be cheaper than train, and a little more than bus. But that involves spending the night somewhere. As for buses you sleep on the bus and hope like heck the bus driver doesn't get sleepy as well. I know one did on me, I will never ride a bus again. The train on the other hand is on rails so no worries going in the ditch. The trains are also monitored very closely. After you cross the Mississippi River it may be possible to get a sleeper, that way you would have your own little room with a bed. The bus you also have to worry about food, stock upi on stops that have high prices and little to offer. The train has a dining car.
Answer 2 :
Take Amtrak from DC to Chicago Change to the Southwest Chief to Albuquerque

Count "blue cars"
Answer 2 :
You are on the right track. I have driven from Albuquerque, NM to Oklahoma City, OK and it was pretty boring. I have also driven from Denver to Albuquerque and there are more things to do and see along the way. The Coors plant in Golden, CO (outside of Denver) gives free tours with beer samples. Heading east on 76 to 80 to Omaha will take you past the flagship store of Cabela's and Nebraska's Great Platte River Road Archway in Kearney. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo is a must see. I've lived in Omaha and San Diego and Omaha's Zoo is better than San Diego's. Omaha also has a Cabela's right off of the Interstate. Chicago has too many attractions to mention. After that, a stop in South Bend to see the University of Notre Dame campus would be nice. Call ahead and tell them you are interested in going there in a couple of years and would like a tour. Cleveland has the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Happy trails!

Answer 1 :
Take the "Dog". Greyhound Bus will get you there in a Day or so...
Answer 2 :
You could do Greyhound....but they're getting about $250 for the roundtrip. I wouldn't consider that cheap, especially considering that you'll have to spend 30 miserable hours on a bus. Sometimes people advertise rideshares on Craigslist. Usually people just ask for help with gas money, etc. It might be hard to work that out if you have a specific schedule to keep. Might be safety issues involved too. Renting a car might not cost much more, depending on how long you intend to stay. You can fly on Southwest from Albuquerque to Houston for $107 one way, plus tax. You'd still have to get to Galveston, of course. Good luck.

Does anyone know which commuter railroads travel from Albuquerque, NM to Boston, Ma area?
Need a train that can facilitate elderly disabled passengers. Need to know ASAP, thanks.

Answer 1 :
No train travels that distance. Try Amtrack possibly..but nothins gonna bring u tha full distance
Answer 2 :
Go to http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/Schedules_Page This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America.
Answer 3 :
I think it's about a 2.5 to 3 day journey so it's not exactly a commuter trip Take Amtrak to Chicago and then Chicago to Boston http://tickets.amtrak.com enter ABQ for Albuquerque and BOS for Boston Pay really close attention to connecting train times Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything less than 2 hours Go to Cars and Transportation >Trains to see if regular Amtrak riders think that the 2 hours i suggested is still cutting it too close and maybe 3-4 would be better Enjoy the trip
Answer 4 :
Amtrack is really the only one, but it will be a long, expensive flight. I would suggest flying.

What is the most cost effective way to travel from Albuquerque, NM, USA to Fort Wayne, IN, USA?
I need to travel and have a limited budget, please help? Thanks!
Other - Destinations - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
maybe the bus or a plane. Not driving of course.
Answer 2 :
If you plan to go by Train - from Albuquerque to Chicago is $172 one way, from Chicago to Fort Wayne you would have to find other way to get there than train, it is about 200 miles. but you could rent a car in the train station. You do not say whether this is one way or round trip, but this is a relatively cheap way to go, pretty fast. Car rental would be around ~$35 per day. So you could do it for just over $200. If you were to take the car - your own or rent - it would be 1405 miles, which would take ~24 hours to drive and if you used $0.30 per mile, that would be $421.50 - if it was your car, and car rental $35 per day.

About what is the best way to travel from Albuquerque, New Mexico to La Paz, Mexico

What is the best way to travel from Albuquerque, New Mexico to La Paz, Mexico?
At first I wanted to drive down to San Diego and then down the Baja peninsula to La Paz. Then, a friend of mine mentioned that a better and shorter way is to drive to Mazatlan and then to take a ferryboat across to La Paz. In checking out the Atlas I can see that Mazatlan is quite a bit south of La Paz and that the ferry boat would be backtracking. Do you have some other suggestions for best routes from Albuquerque to La Paz?
Other - Mexico - 1 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Yes .... the ferry to take leaves from Topolombanpo near Los Mochis and only takes about 9 hours. The ferry from Mazatlan takes 18 hours. The problem with taking the ferry is you need to register your car for mainland Mexico (money, time and paperwork) and the ferry costs about $100us for car plus a passenger fare of about $60
